LH men’s basketball cruises to road win over Edinboro
EDINBORO, PA – The Lock Haven men’s basketball team (7-1, 3-0 PSAC) rolled past Edinboro University (2-6, 0-3 PSAC), 82-71, on Sunday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest.
After a quick start from Edinboro, the Bald Eagles gained the lead at the 15-minute mark and would not relinquish their lead. The Haven quickly pulled away by as many as 12 points in the opening half and took a 37-26 lead into the halftime break.
Jayy Davis (Cheltenham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham (Washington Adventist)) shouldered the scoring in the opening half with 12 points on 5-9 from the field in the first half.
The Haven continued to roll in the second half and the two squads battled out an even final 20 minutes. Davis and James Price (Joppa, Md./Archbishop Curley) poured in the points and LHU notched an important 82-71 conference victory.
Davis led all players with 25 points on an impressive 8-14 from the field including 3-4 from beyond the arc and Price tallied 22 on a spectacular 11-13 from the floor. Price also hauled in a team-high 11 boards.
Justice Shoats (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) rounded out the trio of Bald Eagles in double figures with 10 points of his own.
Head coach Mike Nestor’s squad assisted on 19 of 32 made field goals on the day and Eli Washington (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) posted a team-best five assists to lead The Haven attack.

The Haven is back in action Monday night when they host California (Pa.). That matchup with the Vulcans is set for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
