On March 23, 2022 STPD officers were dispatched to a cardiac arrest at a township residence. Upon arrival officers began to render care to a 33-year-old female that was in cardiac arrest. Officers soon located a second individual, 59-year-old female, also in cardiac arrest. STPD officers began CPR and provided multiple doses of NARCAN.
Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that both had suffered an overdose from the ingestion of a controlled substance. Both females died as a result of the incident. A subsequent investigation revealed that two individuals played a direct role in the deaths.
As a result of our investigation, STPD charged Jonathan Baird and Timothy King with the following charges: Drug Delivery Resulting in Death (2 counts) (F1), Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (F), Criminal use of a Communication Facility (F3) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (F).
Baird is currently lodged in the Centre County Correctional Facility. King is awaiting extradition from Westmoreland County.
