Renovo shooting suspect arrested

RENOVO, PA – Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse and the state police at Lamar on Thursday issued a joint press release to announce the arrest of Shaun Jason Wadsworth, 42, of 5th Street, Renovo, on one count of aggravated assault, a felony of the first degree, and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony of the second degree.

Wadsworth was taken into custody immediately following an alleged shooting that occurred at 129 5th Street in Renovo at approximately 4:40 p.m. Wednesday. Wadsworth is alleged to have fired an AR-style rifle at the victim, Christopher Clausen, 46, of Gallagher Township, following an argument between the two men.

The investigation remains ongoing as state police have been on scene since the shooting. Following the shooting, a neighbor called 911 seeking medical attention for Clausen who was heard yelling for help from a nearby alley. Renovo borough police immediately responded and took Wadsworth into custody. Clausen was transported for medical treatment and remains hospitalized as of the time of this release.

Wadsworth was arraigned by District Judge Frank P. Mills, bail at $20,000. Wadsworth remains incarcerated at the Clinton County Correctional Facility as of the time of this release. Wadsworth will make his first court appearance on Tuesday November 22 at 8:30 a.m. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.
