LH FH: Rudy named A-10 Coach of the Year, five Bald Eagles earn All-Conference Awards
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – After leading the Division I Lock Haven field hockey team to their most wins since 2015, Hall of Fame head coach Pat Rudy added another award to her growing trophy case.
In Wednesday’s Atlantic 10 (A-10) field hockey awards, Rudy was named the conference Coach of the Year, and five Bald Eagles were also honored as individuals.
Jazmin Palma (Entre Rios Providence Argentina/Colegio Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) and Martina Spangenberg (Buenos Aries, Argentina/Piaget) both notched First-Team All-Conference honors.
The trio of Kelsey Felix (Hallam, Pa./Eastern York), Brynlee Pinschenat (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) and Victoria Scheer (Haarlem, Netherlands/Kennemer Lyceum) all earned a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie team. It marks the first time since joining the conference that the Bald Eagles have had three rookies honored by the A-10.
For Rudy, it marks her first A-10 Coach of the Year award since the Bald Eagles joined the conference in 2010. In 2004, Rudy was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Coach of the Year. 2022 was yet another landmark year for The Haven and Coach Rudy as she guided the Bald Eagles to 12 wins, the program’s most since 2015, and a perfect 9-0 record at home for the first time since 2003. Rudy sits at 634 wins in her illustrious career, which is fourth all-time in NCAA history.
