Lock Haven Tennis Coach John Machak announces resignation

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Lock Haven head women’s tennis coach John Machak has announced his resignation. He has served as the head coach since the program officially returned to varsity competition in September 2019.

Since 2019, Machak helped the program usher in a new era on the courts at The Haven. Last season (2021-22), Lock Haven picked up its first dual win since the program’s return.

This season, the Bald Eagles went an impressive 4-1 in dual action with wins over Penn State Altoona, Lycoming, Susquehanna and Penn College during the fall portion of the 2022-23 season.

From 1968 to 1992, Lock Haven sponsored women’s tennis, and in August 2018 the University announced plans to reintroduce the sport. On September 15, 2019, the Bald Eagles hosted Lycoming in a dual match which marked the official restart of the program.

A search for a new head tennis coach is forthcoming.
