Keystone Juniors take Sectional Title 15-1 over Selinsgrove
WELLSBORO, PA – The Keystone Junior All-Stars have zipped their way to a Sectional Championship, winning Tuesday over Selinsgrove 15-1 for the Section 3 title. Manager Steve Shade’s team has had a strong showing on the tournament trail with 5 games and 5 strong victories. The win was the second over Selinsgrove, 22-0 on Monday in what was a two-team sectional.
The game started out slow with Keystone getting one run in the first and three runs in the third. Selinsgrove would hold Keystone to no runs in the fourth and fifth. However, Keystone would be swinging in the sixth scoring 11 runs. Keystone would have 11 hits and 7 walks.
Blake Walker went the distance in hitting for the night with a triple (with 4 RBIs). Darius Shade, Hunter Donley, Nolan Cross would each have two hits on the evening; Watt Probst and Aiden Jones each with a double and Dane Hanna with a single.
Hanna got things started for Keystone on the mound, going three, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out one. Nolan Cross would come in relief and finish strong for three innings, allowing three hits, one run and striking out one.
Keystone with the Sectional title will prepare to head to the state tournament being held in DuBois next week. The tournament running July 26,-30, will be hosted by Section 1, District 10 DuBois Little League. Keystone will take on the Section 1 Champion to be determined on Tuesday July 26 at 5 p.m.
