Keystone 11s take sectional opener, 15-0

ATHENS, PA – The Keystone 11 All-Stars romped in their Section 3 tourney opener Friday evening, walloping Selinsgrove by a 15-0 count in just two and a half innings. Three Keystone pitchers combined for a 3-inning no-hitter and Manager Cole Hanley’s team pounded out nine hits, including four for extra bases.

Evan Edwards, Carson Smith and Carter Frank combined for the no-hitter, striking out nine and walking just one. Edwards led the offense with a 3-for-3 game, including a double. Smith had a double and a single and Bryan Rote had a homer, a sacrifice fly and three RBIs. Logan Bower contributed a double and singles came from Frank and Angelo Tarantella and Hayden Hanley had a sacrifice fly.

Keystone put seven in the bottom of the first and eight more in the second.

Next up for the 11s is a 4:30 p.m. Saturday game against Tri Valley.
