Keystone 10s blitz Williamsport, 18-0

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Keystone train keeps rolling through District 12 competition. The Keystone 10s on Monday joined their older counterparts in mowing through their district foes, taking down WALL (Williamsport) by an 18-0 score in a 4-inning game played in South Williamsport.

The win was the third in three tries for Manager Tony Millers team, moving them into a district championship game set for Thursday at Montoursville against an opponent to be determined. They hope to join the Keystone 11s, 12s and Juniors, already claiming district titles and moving on to sectional play.

The win for the Keystone 10s was their most complete to date, piling up 15 hits (all singles) and committing only one error. The tempo was set early with 10 runs in the first inning; another eight in the fourth inning brought the game to an early end.

Eight different Keystoners joined the hit parade, led by Brooks Warner, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Brad Brungard chimed in with three hits and three RBIs, Mack Packer going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Chase Karstetter with two singles and two runs batted in. Singles came from Cooper Strouse and Abel Jarrells.

Karstetter and Miller split the mound duties. Karstetter went the first three, giving up two hits and no runs with six strikeouts and one walk; Miller finished up, one shutout inning of work, surrendering one hit and striking out one.
