LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Democratic Party cut the ribbon and staged an open house Thursday evening at its new headquarters, the former E. Main St. Methodist Church in Lock Haven.

Denise Maris, Democratic candidate for the state House from the 76th district, wielded the scissors for the ribbon-cutting and said how difficult it is with “the negative narratives that people are constantly talking about” relative to Democrats and said she wants to “have a conversation” with those who don’t want to talk to her because she is a Democrat “for fear they’re even going to have a conversation with me” and talk to them, “have a conversation and sway them back.” She said, “I’m terrified for my kids, I am terrified for my grandkids.” She said if that means she’ll have to knock on every single door, she will in order to get her message out.

Other speakers included Clinton County Commissioner Angela Harding and representatives for gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro and US Senate candidate John Fetterman. New county party chairman Bill Mincer spoke, and outgoing chairperson Rose Reeder and her husband Dan were recognized for their service to the party over the course of Mrs. Reeder’s four-year term as chairperson.
