HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 8,873 new COVID-19 cases.

The state reported 4,593 patients hospitalized due to COVID, down 17 from Friday; those in ICU numbered 930, a drop of five from Friday.

Clinton County reported 26 new cases for a total of 6,505 cases. In Centre County 115 new cases were recorded for a total of 24,416; the number of new cases is the highest since 125 were reported on Dec. 9. Lycoming County added 72 new cases for a total of 20,979.

The death count in Clinton County remained at 99 on Saturday while 195 new deaths were recorded by the state. .
