HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 8,918 new COVID-19 cases, an increase of better than 1,500 over the Thursday figure.

The state reported 4,604 patients hospitalized due to COVID, down 47 from Thursday; those in ICU numbered 935, a drop of 32 from Thursday.

Clinton County reported 18 new cases for a total of 6,479 cases. In Centre County 88 new cases were recorded for a total of 24,301. Lycoming County added 57 new cases for a total of 20,907.

The death count in Clinton County remained at 99 on Friday.
