MANHEIM, PA – The Lock Haven University men’s wrestling team returned to action Sunday – one week after officially opening the 2021-22 season – and the Bald Eagles had two pool winners at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic Tournament, held at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

10 different Bald Eagles hit the mats for the round robin style tournament and leading the way was Gable Strickland (Benton, Pa./Benton) and Connor Eck (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem), who both won their respective pools.

Strickland was 3-0 on the day and won the 133-pound “C” pool. He recorded one tech fall and downed Lehigh’s Satashi Abe, 2-1 in the finals.

Eck was 3-0 and won the 149-pound “E” pool. In the finals, he pinned Michael Leandrou of Hofstra in 2:28. Eck also had a tech fall on the day, as he turned in a dominating effort for the second straight week. He was second at last weekend’s Clarion Open.

Ashton Eyler (Millersburg, Ohio/Claymont (Iowa Central C.C.)) and DaShawn Farber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth) both turned in strong efforts as well.
