Renovo’s Perry finishes fourth at mammoth high school wrestling tourney

 

GREENSBORO, NC – Central Mountain’s Dalton Perry finished fourth in the weekend Super 32 Challenge in Greensboro, North Carolina. Perry, a Renovo resident, came in as the 12th seed in the 120 pound high school division which included 133 wrestlers.

Perry went 7-2 over Saturday and Sunday to finish fourth, dropping his final, third place bout by a 6-5 score. Perry will be a freshman on the Central Mountain team this winter and wrestles with the Wildcats through the two schools’ co-op program.

Teammate Luke Simcox went 1-2 at 138 pounds. He is a sophomore at Central Mountain and was a fifth place finisher at the PIAA tournament in March of this year.

Best showing among area wrestlers came from Bald Eagle Area senior Grace Stem who finished as runner-up at 139 pounds in the girls’ division.
