LHU football downed by Bloomsburg, 44-0

BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Lock Haven University football team (1-6, 0-4 PSAC East) fell to host Bloomsburg University (2-5, 1-3 PSAC East), 44-0, Saturday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action. A stout Huskies defense held the Bald Eagles to less than 100 yards of offense.

Bloomsburg led 14-0 at halftime and the Huskies scored 30 second-half points on the way to the divisional victory.

Kaden Bittinger (Clarence, Pa./Bald Eagle) followed up last week’s breakout game with three catches today.

Shane Scott (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) led LHU with 10 tackles, which included five solo stops. He also had a tackle-for-loss, sack, forced fumble and a pass-breakup.

Kahari Kirklin-Whitfield (Reading, Pa./Reading) recorded 10 tackles and Austin Barber (Johnstown, Pa./Greater Johnstown) chipped in on the defensive end with eight tackles.

Bloomsburg quarterback David LePoidevin led the way with 246 passing-yards and three touchdowns. Kaleb Monaco rushed for 91 yards on 18 carries.

Next Saturday’s game marks LHU’s 2021 Homecoming. The Bald Eagles will host nationally-ranked Kutztown University at 2 p.m. in Week-8 action. Kutztown was ranked No. 25 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches’ national poll.
