Walk-in/Drive-thru COVID-19 testing at Mill Hall Pharmacy, vaccines available
By Christopher Miller
MILL HALL, PA – Walk-up and drive-thru COVID-19 testing is available at Mill Hall Pharmacy thanks to Pharmacist Chris Freeman and his team.
“It’s a saliva COVID test,” the Mill Hall pharmacist explained, “you basically spit in a vial, return it to the pharmacy, and you will have test results in most likely less than 48 hours.”
If you feel like you have COVID-19, Chris urges that the public use the drive-thru rather than walking into the pharmacy. As he explained to The Record, the vial and instructions will be given at the drive-thru window, the individual will then park their car, conduct the test, and return it to the person working at the drive-thru window to keep contact low from person to person.
Walk-up and drive-thru testing is available every day (except Sunday) and without appointment. The public is urged to visit www.RxCOVIDtest.com prior to going to the pharmacy to take a short, 20-question test to determine if one has the appropriate symptoms. It is at this time that the individual will enter health insurance information which will determine if there will be a charge for the test. As Chris explained, “about 99% of the time the test is performed free-of-charge.”
COVID-19 vaccines are always available at Mill Hall Pharmacy, free-of-charge. No appointments are necessary to receive a vaccine. The pharmacy keeps on hand the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines for the individual to choose from. “When the vaccines were first available, I was performing about 100/day, and now it seems to be down to about 10/day,” Chris said.
Chris’s opinion is that the COVID-19 vaccine will turn into the annual flu shot. “It will probably never go away and we will have pockets of it from time to time, but we have the free will to choose if we want the vaccine or not,” said Chris. “In time, it will probably not be as severe,” but only time will tell.
“You can still contract COVID-19 if you have been vaccinated,” Chris explained. “And yes, you can still spread it from person-to-person…but the great fear is the vaccinated spreading it to the unvaccinated.”
As Chris explained, the most trusted source for COVID-19 information is the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website which in his opinion, is the bible for all updated information about COVID-19. That information can be found here: www.cdc.gov/info
