COVID case increase eases a bit in the mid-state

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 3,392 new COVID-19 cases statewide.

The state said there are 2.761 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, down 55 from Friday. Of those hospitalized 672 are in intensive care units, down 20 from Friday; 393 reported on ventilators, up nine from the previous day.

In Clinton County 12 new cases were reported on Saturday, bringing the total to 4,382. Centre County saw an increase of 42 on Saturday to 19,431, while Lycoming County increased by 34 to 14,560. Collectively the Saturday increased case numbers for the three counties is the lowest since Saturday, Sept. 4.

55 new deaths were reported by the state; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
