CM girls’ soccer drops opener to Warrior Run, 3-0
DANVILLE, PA – The Warrior Run girls’ soccer team took a 3-0 win Saturday in their season opener with visiting Central Mountain. The contest was played in Danville as the Defenders’ home field is out of use for renovations.
The game marked the return to the Central Mountain coaching sidelines for Ryan Veltri. Afterward he said, “It will be a continuous climb this season within this conference (Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference) and this was not an easy start.”
Veltri, back for his second stint at the Lady Wildcat helm, said there were some bright spots for Central Mountain, including Madison Briggs in goal who came up “with some fantastic saves on the day.”
The Lady Wildcats will have their home opener on Tuesday with Milton at 7 p.m., preceded by a 5:30 p.m. jayvee game.
