Clinton County non-vaccinated visitors, employees asked to “mask up”
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Citing a “second wave” of COVID cases taking place across the country, in Pennsylvania and in Clinton County, Clinton County Commissioner Angela Harding on Monday announced a new masking policy for those working for or doing business with the county. Harding said county department heads met last week and decided, effective Monday of this week, that the unvaccinated are asked to wear masks; this includes both visitors and employees.
Harding said the new policy is designed to protect county employees as the number of COVID cases in the county is again on the rise; she said between July 26 and August 8, there were 41 new cases. She said 38 percent of county residents have received at least one vaccination shot and 34.7 percent are fully vaccinated. She said that amounts to 14,000 county residents with at least one shot; the rest are not. Statistics show Clinton County, with a population of approximately 39,000, lags behind much of the state in the percentage of its citizens vaccinated.
She said some county department heads are asking that all visitors, vaccinated or not, to mask up. She said masks will be provided if needed.
