County’s Harding says COVID-related decisions may be coming
LOCK HAVEN, PA – It was a brief (17 minute) Clinton County Commissioners meeting Thursday, but commissioner Angela Harding renewed her periodic call for county residents to “consider getting vaccinated” against COVID-19.
Citing an increase in COVID variants in the area (adjacent Cameron County identified by the state this week as having a high rate of COVID transmission), Harding said it is time to “start thinking about decisions we’re going to have to make.” She noted the county is “hanging at 34%” of adults who have been vaccinated. That number is well below the state and national averages. There have been few new cases in the county in recent weeks.
While the commissioners have reopened county facilities to the public, their online posting of the agenda for their Thursday meeting said, “Facial coverings are strongly recommended for unvaccinated persons” choosing to attend the meeting.
The commissioners read a proclamation recognizing the Clinton County Conservation District on its seventy-fifth anniversary. The organization was established on April 3, 1946. Local attorney Paul Ryan was recognized for completing 29 years of service to the county in various capacities; it was noted he is not retiring from the practice of law.
