County’s Piper Building shut down; no power

LOCK HAVEN, PA – A PPL transformer failure has resulted in the temporary closure of Clinton County’s Piper Building.

The transformer failed Wednesday afternoon and a generator inside the Piper Building was activated. But county board chairman Miles Kessinger said at Thursday’s commissioners’ meeting that the generator mal-functioned just before daybreak Thursday, forcing the building shutdown. Services normally available at the building will resume when electricity is restored, the commissioner said.

The power outage affected only the Piper Building. It forced the commissioners to move their Thursday morning meeting outdoors to the county pavilion; thus it was not available for streaming.
