Streator appointed as LHU’s Faculty Athletics Representative.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Dr. Steve Streator, an associate professor in the Health Science Department, was recently appointed to the role of Lock Haven University Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR).

“I am very excited to welcome Dr. Streator to the athletic department team as our Faculty Athletics Representative,” said Dr. Tom Gioglio, LHU director of athletics. “Dr. Streator’s qualifications, familiarity with LHU, accompanied with his long-standing relationship with our service orientated faculty will be a tremendous asset to our student-athlete’s success.”

At LHU, Streator will serve the LHU student-athletes by acting as a liaison between them and the university faculty.

“I feel privileged to serve as Lock Haven University’s Faculty Athletic Representative,” said Dr. Streator. “This position allows me to cultivate the close-knit relationships for which our campus is so well known. My goal is to promote student-athlete success in the classroom, in athletics, and in the community by fostering a balance in their collegiate experience and partnering with them to prepare their way to lifelong success.”

According to the NCAA, the role of the Faculty Athletics Representative is uniquely positioned to communicate the benefits of intercollegiate athletics to faculty, the media and the public. FARs help promote Division II’s “Life in the Balance,” as they champion student-athlete academic success and help ensure the quality of the athletics experience. The FAR is also uniquely positioned to help develop a caring and supportive campus environment that fosters student-athlete mental health and wellness.
