State doing well in COVID vaccination rate; Clinton County, not so well
LOCK HAVEN, PA – There are two more free COVID-19 vaccination clinics coming up in Clinton County later this month. County commissioner Angela Harding noted at the Thursday commissioners’ meeting that the county has teamed with Lock Haven University and UPMC Lock Haven for two drive-through clinics. They are Friday, June 25 and Monday, June 28. The site will be adjacent to the LHU Student Recreation Center along Railroad Street in Lock Haven, hours from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
Harding offered numbers which show the county lags behind much of the state in terms of residents’ vaccinated, 57th out of 67 counties. As of Wednesday, she said, the vaccination percentage was at 31.27%; also there have been 27 new COVID cases in the county in the last two weeks. She again “encouraged” county residents to get vaccinated.
Meanwhile the state reports that of Wednesday, Pennsylvania has administered first doses of vaccine to 61.1% of its entire population, and the state ranks 9th among all 50 states for first doses administered by percentage of population; also 57.8% of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older are fully vaccinated while 73.7% have received their first dose.
