Central Mountain student scores high in “Stock Market Challenge”

HARRISBURG, PA – The Stock Market Challenge through the nonprofit Brighter Financial Futures has announced that Kobe Mills was a top state place-winner in the challenging competition.

Mills is a junior at Central Mountain High School and worked under the leadership of faculty member Donna Mayes. He finished in the top ten in the state in the Late Spring Stock Challenge.

The Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy (PennCFL) provides to all students in grades K -12 in Pennsylvania a world-class, web-based stock simulation platform and curriculum. Students can learn how to trade all year long by using the whole curriculum, courses, and more, including two ten-week competitions. The competitions are held in the classroom, by county and statewide. The platform provides lessons, assignments, and grading for seamless teacher management. The cutting-edge, real-time stock game is derived from Stock-Trak’s University Platform, which is used in over 80% of the top business schools in the United States.
