Monday deadline for grant funding for county hospitality businesses
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County restaurants, bars, hotels and other for-profit businesses in the hospitality industry have until this Monday, May 17, to apply for grant funding through the COVID Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP). SEDA-COG is administering the program for the county and recently announced that third-round funding for the grant program closes May 17.
According to information provided by the Clinton County Economic Partnership, $170,160 remains in Clinton County’s overall $437,560 allocation; to date, 10 businesses have received grants, with $185,000 being awarded in the first round and another $70,000 in the second round.
Funding must be completed by July 15, so if a business is considering applying for a CHIRP grant, do so now. Go to https://csgiving.org/chirp/ to apply for a grant. For more information, contact Betsy Lockwood at SEDA-COG at 570-522-7265 or elockwood@seda-cog.org. The Partnership notes there is one more funding round scheduled, which will run until June 15 if there is still funding available after Round 3 grants are awarded.
That local CHIRP update comes as Gov. Tom Wolf has encouraged businesses to apply for the CHIRP hospitality industry recovery funding, saying the state has already announced $50 million in CHIRP grants, including $1.2 million in Lycoming County (to 56 businesses) and $1.8 million in Centre County (to 86 businesses). Both of those counties have exhausted their funding allocation from the state’s overall $145 million allocated among all 67 counties.
