Make it Personal with Addie’s Awards and Printing

People in the Lock Haven area recognize the name “Addie.” The Addie’s name has been a local trademark and namesake for more than 50 years in the Lock Haven area. What you may not know is that the iconic Main Street store is actually two separate businesses.

On the south side of East Main Street you have Addie’s, Inc., a premier jeweler in downtown Lock Haven who very well may become a future Around Town column!

On the north side of East Main Street you have Addie’s Awards and Printing, the store that owners Stephen Brion and DeAnna Heggenstaller say has earned the comment “I didn’t know you did that” from dozens of their customers!

Addie’s Awards and Printing is an off-shoot of the original Addie’s store which has a rich history in the downtown Lock Haven area. Stephen Brion and DeAnna Heggenstaller purchased the business in June 2018 and have been running it ever since. “We kept Awards and Printing, but wanted to expand the business into other things, like our capability to print on apparel,” said Stephen in an interview with The Record. “People can come in here with an idea and then it sort of materializes out of thin air – the options are endless for their projects.”

“We have specialty items that you can see and touch in person,” said DeAnna. “You don’t have to buy a certain quantity or a minimum number for an order, but of course there are price breaks for large orders and quantity discounts, such as 100 shirts, nametags, sticker decals, etc.”

What makes the store unique is their ability to customize and personalize almost anything. “We want the plaque in this color, with this wording, font type, and metal color,” said Stephen. “And we can go ahead and do it, all customized for the person or the business branding.”

Asking Stephen and DeAnna just exactly what they can do at their store is a very loaded question. In the original interview, the easier question would have been, “what can’t you do?”

“We can do just about it all – apparel, custom laser engraving, diamond bit engraving, custom pens, name tags, water bottles, promotional, branding and marketing items for businesses, vinyl decals, banners of all sizes, trophies and awards, glasses and mugs, hallway signs on plastic and metal, cemetery memorial markers, signage and apparel for emergency responders, safety tags, leatherette portfolios, desk plates, keychains, police and fire badges, custom ink stamps, self-inking stamps, vehicle magnets, do you see how this list is literally endless? And it’s right in your very own backyard!

A unique feature of their business is what they call “Organization Shops.” The Organization Shops benefit local organizations such as Central Mountain Cross Country, Jersey Shore Citizens Hose Company #45, Jersey Shore Music Boosters, Central Mountain Wildcats, Robb Elementary, and the Stan Welshans Fund Drive. So why should you visit Addie’s Awards and Printing? “You will get to talk to someone face-to-face about your project,” replied Stephen. “We talk to people in-depth and thorough about their project, and we show them the quality work we do.”

“People always find something else they did not know they needed,” said Stephen. “They can see products live, in-store vs the online marketplace.”

Addie’s Awards and Printing, the store that takes pride in the work they do every day not only for their customers, but for our local first responders and military veterans.

Oh yeah, and they also have and still sparingly put to use the original 1973 hand engraver that started at the jewelry store. Talk about an heirloom!
