Central Mountain track splits at Hollidaysburg
HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA – The Central Mountain girls’ track and field team came home a winner with its 77-72 defeat of Hollidaysburg on Thursday. The boys’ side did not fare as well, falling 111-39 to the Golden Tigers.
Mallory Eck was a double first place winner, taking both the shot put and javelin. Also garnering firsts were Lily Hendricks, high jump; Ashley Rich, 100 meter hurdles; Sofia Dressler, 1600; Maddie Bair, 400 meters; 3200 and 400 relay teams. For the girls’ team, it was their second win of the week, having downed Shamokin on Tuesday.
For the boys’ team, Dominick Kennedy took the 200, Brett Gerlach the high jump, and Anton Stratts, the discuss.
The track team will be home, at the Central Mountain Middle School, on Tuesday, April 20, the opponent Mifflinburg; meet time is 4 p.m.
