County shares COVID vaccination information

LOCK HAVEN, PA – With Clinton County lagging behind much of the rest of the state in terms of vaccinations to ward off COVID-19, the county has released updated information as to local availability for the vaccine.

County commissioner Angela Harding said the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus, recently named as a regional inoculation site, is not on the list; visits to that facility have been paused as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, in use there, has been temporarily suspended over concerns after six women, out of more than six million vaccinations worldwide, experienced blood clots.

Urging our Residents to get the Vaccine!

Getting vaccinated is essential to our return to normalcy, and it requires everyone’s participation. We can all do our part by spreading facts, not COVID-19!

Based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine also helps keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19.

Getting COVID-19 may offer some protection, known as natural immunity. Current evidence suggests that reinfection with the virus that causes COVID-19 is uncommon in the months after initial infection, but may increase with time. The risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19 far outweighs any benefits of natural immunity.

COVID-19 vaccination will help protect you by creating an antibody (immune system) response without having to experience sickness. Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools we have available. As experts learn more about how COVID-19 vaccination may help reduce spread of the virus that causes COVID-19, we urge county residents to schedule their vaccination.
