Central Mountain track loses at ‘Shore
JERSEY SHORE, PA – The Central Mountain track and field squads started their seasons at Jersey Shore on Tuesday. The girls’ team was edged by ‘Shore by a 78-71 score, while the male Bulldogs downed their Wildcat counterparts by a 107 to 43 score.
The meet was not without standout individual showings from both ‘Cat teams. For the girls, Kiahna Jones took first in both the 100 meters and the triple jump and Lily Hendricks was first in the long jump and high jump. Other firsts on the girls’ side were Ashley Rich in the 110 hurdles (she also had a third in the long jump), the 400 meter relay team, Mallory Eck in the javelin (along with a third in the shot) and Jocelyn Renninger in the pole vault.
First place finishers for the boys included Anton Stratts with firsts in both the shot put and discus and Kyle Dreibelbis in the 400 meters and Brett Gerlach in the high jump.
Next up is a home meet with Selinsgrove on Wednesday, April 7. Home events are held behind the Central Mountain Middle School.
