Seven Wildcats Named Heartland Conference All-Stars
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP- The Heartland Athletic Conference recently announced its 2020 all-star squad and seven Central Mountain players received recognition.
The honored Wildcats were led by two-way standout Jake Welch (sr, 6-3, 315). Welch was a first-team pick as an offensive lineman and accorded honor mention as a defensive lineman. Other first team selections were Sean Sprague (sr, 6-2, 255) as an offensive lineman, Peyton Johnson (sr, 5-11, 185) as a wide receiver and Anton Stratts (jr, 6-1, 230) as an outside linebacker.
Second team selections were Ryan Pentz (jr, 6-0, 170) as a running back and Tyler Cygan (sr, 6-0, 265) as an offensive lineman. Honorable mention went to Cyrus McCarl (sr, 6-0, 265) at defensive tackle, in addition to Welch.
The Wildcats went 4-4 in a COVID-19 shortened season.
