COVID-19 Update: Statewide Surge Sets New Records; Clinton Jumps 114; Centre, Up 262; Lyco Jumps 248
HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID Data Dashboard Friday offered a grim picture on the growth of COVID-19 cases, both across the state and in Clinton and surrounding counties: As of 12:00 a.m., Dec.11, statewide there were 12,745 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 470,034. The one-day total marks a new high for the second day in a row.
The state reported an additional 225 deaths attributed to the coronavirus, the state total 12,235. The 225 figure is the second highest for deaths in a day, exceeded only by Thursday’s count of 248.
Local counties’ numbers: Clinton County, up a record 114 to 1,203; Centre County, up 262 to 7,456; Lycoming up 248 to 3,532. Other area counties include Cameron, 58; Clearfield, 2,618; Potter, 389; and Union, 2,100.
Thus far 6,477 Clinton County residents have tested negative for COVID-19, an increase of 126 from Thursday.
