George W. Duff – Obituary
George W. Duff, 93, passed away December 4, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna.
He was born August 21, 1927 to the late John and Leila Crouse Duff.
George was a 1945 graduate of Lock Haven High School. After graduation he entered the Navy where he served his country as a Seaman in the Second Class until his honorable discharge on July 29, 1946. George was awarded the World War II Victory Medal for his service to the country. Upon his discharge from Naval service George began working at the former Hammermill Paper Co. in Lock Haven.
On April 15, 1950 George married the former Grace Fisher, she survives at home.
He was a member of the Rote United Methodist Church. George was a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. George and Grace enjoyed many years as season ticket holders at Penn State Football Games as well as following the program to many Bowl Games. His wit and antics will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by a granddaughter, Laura (Andy) Weaver of Lock Haven; a daughter in law, Carol Duff of Lock Haven; his great-grandchildren, Abigail Morgan, Tyler Evan and Cooper Stephen Weaver of Lock Haven; and his faithful dog, Ruby.
George was preceded in death by his son, Gary Stephen Duff, August 15, 2018.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at Linnwood Cemetery, 168 Linnwood Drive, Lock Haven, PA 17745 with Major Ron Lugiano officiating.
