COVID-19 Update: State Surge Continues; Clinton, Up 17; Centre, Up 75; Lyco, Up 72
HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID Data Dashboard Wednesday said that as of 12:00 a.m., Dec. 2, that statewide there were 8,291 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 375,431. The 8,291 is the second highest one-day number on record, exceeded only by 8,425 new cases on Nov. 26.
The state reported an additional 194 deaths (a new one-day high) attributed to the coronavirus, the state total 10,757. The previous one-day high had been 180 deaths recorded on Tuesday.
Local counties’ numbers: Clinton County, up 17 to 792; Centre County, up 75 to 6,473; Lycoming up 72 to 2,315. Other area counties include Cameron, 29; Clearfield, 1,867; Potter, 278; and Union, 1,739.
Thus far 6,166 Clinton County residents have tested negative for COVID-19, an increase of 10 from Tuesday.
