Defenders Offensive in 9-0 over CM Boys Soccer

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Warrior Run boys’ soccer team, stunned by unheralded Jersey Shore earlier in the week, took out their frustrations on the Central Mountain team on Saturday, the Defenders scoring early and often in a 9-0 victory.

Warrior Run had seen its 12-0 start ruined only days earlier in a one-goal loss to Jersey Shore, the game played on the Bulldogs’ small-sized backup field at Avis Elementary School. But Saturday, playing on the full size Malinak Stadium turf, the Defenders did many things well in moving to 14-1 on the year. For Central Mountain, the game was the last of the season and dropped the Wildcats to 2-12-1 on the year.

The talented Alex Hazoom led the Warrior Run attack, scoring four goals. Central Mountain was held to just one shot on goal on the day, Chase Young off a free kick in the second half.

Warrior Run had a 10-1 edge in corner kicks and a 17-1 margin in shots on goal.
