Clinton County Prison Inmate Accepts $37,000 in Sexual Assault Case Accord
WILLIAMSPORT – An exotic dancer has settled her suit with the Clinton County Correctional Facility for $37,000. Jada Ferguson, 33, had filed the suit in 2017 against the correctional facility, along with now retired warden John Rowley and a former corrections officer.
Ferguson had claimed in federal court that correctional officer Chanse Davy had sexually harassed her in 2015 because she is an exotic dancer.
Terms of the settlement were reported Wednesday on PennLive after a right to know request. Details of the settlement were not released and the plaintiff is not allowed to speak to the media about the agreement.
According to PennLive, Ferguson alleged in her suit that Davy:
• Sexually harassed Ferguson because she worked as an exotic dancer.
• Forced her to perform oral sex on him in a bathroom she was cleaning in the administrative wing on Nov. 26, 2015.
• Digitally penetrated her about a week later when he unbuttoned her jumpsuit again while cleaning a bathroom.
The PennLive story said after filing complaints about the two alleged bathroom incidents she said she was placed in segregation, denied the opportunity to speak with a counselor and was transferred to the Centre County Prison.
Court records show Ferguson has had drug and theft case convictions in Lycoming, Clinton and Centre counties since 2014. She has a pending drug case in Lycoming County.
Her court suit claimed cruel and unusual punishment, failure to properly train and supervise guards, assault and battery. She had sought unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
Davy resigned to accept other employment, a county official had said when the suit was filed in 2017.
