Jane E. Reeder – Obituary
Jane E. Reeder, 77, of Mill Hall passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore.
Born in Jersey Shore on December 5th, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Claire and Florence (Keen) Williams.
Jane was a graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School.
In 1973, she married her love, Charles E. Reeder, Sr., with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
In her younger years, Jane worked at the former Leader Nursing Home, Jersey Shore, before dedicating her life to raising her children and caring for her grandchildren.
Being an Elvis enthusiast, she always joked that once she got to heaven, she would surely be attending his concerts. Jane was also an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr, Michael Jackson, and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
She could often be found making crafts with her granddaughters, or in the kitchen, where she will be remembered making delicious comfort food. She taught her grandchildren everything she could about cooking and baking so her recipes would, “never die.” She loved to travel to New York often to spend time with her sisters when she was still able to. Jane spent a lot of her time playing solitaire and rummy 500, and even appeased her youngest grandchild with countless games of go-fish.
She adored her pet cats, Dutchess and Shadow.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Nancy Devine, Nadine (Jeff) Devine and Mike (Laura) Devine, all of North Carolina, Craig Reeder of Harrisburg and Charlie (Beth) Reeder of Lock Haven; six grandchildren: Kristina Houseweart, Lincoln and Dominik Mauck, and Charlie, Tori and Summer Reeder. She has three great grandchildren with a fourth great grandchild coming in March of 2021.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Linn Williams and two sisters, Ellie and Connie Williams.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St. Flemington.
