Lady Bucks 4-2 after Win over Galeton

By Jim Morgan
FARWELL – On Monday night the Bucktail Lady Bucks gave Coaches Gentzyel and Morgan an early Christmas gift by defeating Galeton 44-29. It was good defense and a good balanced offense attack as 8 of the10 Lady Bucks scored as Myka Poorman led with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Tessa Cowfer had 8 points and 5 rebounds as 6 of her points came from the foul line. Raileigh Isaacs scored 7 points and had 4 steals. Carlie Gentzyel and Kayla Probert both had 6 points.

In the first quarter both teams struggled big time finding the rim as Bucktail led 6-3 after one. Bucktail started to heat the nets up as they led at halftime 19-9. Isaacs and Probert got the hot hands in the quarter as they did most of their scoring to extend the lead for the Lady Bucks.

Bucktail’s defense at least forced Galeton into twenty-plus turnovers and stole the ball 12 times. Coach Gentzyel kept the Lady Bucks pressure on the Lady Tigers as they would build their lead more in the third quarter. Bucktail led 32-13 going into the fourth quarter. All ten Bucktail players would see plenty of floor time on this night of sharing and giving as it is that time of the season.

Bucktail is 4-2 on the year, Galeton dropping to 0-6.
