BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Aaron Pfeil (Pittsburgh/South Fayette) was fourth overall and he was one of four Bald Eagles who ran to All-Conference honors Friday, as a strong front-running pack mentality led the Lock Haven University men’s cross country team to a runner-up team finish at the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, hosted by Bloomsburg University.

Luke Vanderhoff (Hamburg, N.J./Wall Kill Valley), John Davern (Manchester, N.J./Manchester) and Zack Skrabski (Pittsburgh/South Park) all earned All-Conference honors today by way of their top-30 performances.

The four All-Conference honors are the most for the Bald Eagles at a single championship race since 2016. That was also the last time LHU finished as the team runner-up. Also of note, Pfeil’s fourth-place outing was the highest individual Lock Haven finish for The Haven men since an Addison Monroe win in 2016.

Pfeil covered the 8K course in 25:36.6 and was fourth of 139 total runners.

Vanderhoff was 13th with a time of 26:14.0 and Davern cracked the top-20 with a 16th-place finish (26:19.6). Skrabski, who is enjoying a breakout fall, was 28th overall and rounded out the Lock Haven All-Conference performers with a time of 26:38.7.
Brett Pope (Pleasant Gap, Pa./Connections Commonwealth Academy), Hunter Confair (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) and Tyler Holcomb (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) rounded out the Bald Eagles top-seven runners with top-90 performances.

Pope was 50th with a time of 27:14.5, Confair, the reigning PSAC Athlete of the Week, was 57th (27:18.3) and Holcomb (87th) ran 28:14.1 in capping a strong top-seven pack.

Lock Haven was second overall, behind only Edinboro. The Bald Eagles racked up 109 points and distanced themselves from Shippensburg who was third with 128 points.

LHU is set to host the 2019 Go Fast River Run meet on Saturday, November 2, before the Bald Eagles host the 2019 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 9.
