YMCA Director in “Jail” for Bail

LOCK HAVEN – Bethann Bartlett, Associate Executive Director of River Valley Regional’s Lock Haven YMCA, is looking for community help to get out of “jail.”

Bartlett Wednesday morning went into confinement just inside the Water Street entrance to the YMCA, part of a fundraising effort to benefit multiple YMCA programs. She said her goal is to raise $500. The proceeds will benefit the Y’s veterans program, childcare early learning initiatives and “Livestrong.” She’ll remain “incarcerated” until her goal is met.

Bartlett said, “Once all my funds are raised, I will stand on the roof of the William Hepburn Building High Rise in downtown Williamsport and rappel 9 stories to the ground. The event will take place on October 26.” Her rappel time will be 1:30 p.m. She said her goal is to “get to the top with our community’s help and support.”

She said the RVR YMCA works every day to strengthening the community by addressing service area needs through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
