Millionaire’s Edge ‘Cats, 1-0

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In a toughly contested effort on the pitch tonight the Williamsport Millionaires left Malinak Stadium with a 1-0 win over Central Mountain in high school boys soccer.

The lone score in the game came at the when Billtown’s Jimmy Pombor found the back of the net unassisted with just 1:33 remaining in the first period. That narrow lead would stand for the win.

Play was fast paced and steady for the entire game with both teams threatening often but coming away empty in most situations.

The Millionaires had a slight edge in shots on goal, 6-5 and 4-1 on corner kicks.

Jeremiah Thomas had two shots for CM with Trey Gentzel, Nate Brinker and Cooper Confer recording one shot each in the game.

Greg Walizer had another good performance at keeper for the ‘Cats with 4 saves on the night.

The loss takes Central Mountain to 4-5 overall, 4-3 in PHAC play.

The Wildcats will hit the road to Bellefonte for an 11:30 a.m. contest on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019.
