Lady ‘Cats Pick Up First Win at DuBois, 3-2

DUBOIS – It took awhile but the Central Mountain girls’ soccer team collected their first win of the 2019 season as they edged the Lady Beavers, 3-2 on the road in non conference action.

In a game that was evenly matched, the Lady Wildcats stepped up the intensity level and outpaced DuBois Abby Brinker putting up 2 goals and Avery Baker scoring once for CM. Baker also had 8 shots on goal in the game while Brinker added 2 more shots. Mia Kopysciansky, Madison Courter, Briley Lewis and Zoe Eck had one shot each on goal.

Central Mountain also had the edge on corner kicks, 7-5.

CM keeper, Hailey Swortwood collected 13 saves in the game for the Lady ‘Cats.

The win takes the Lady Wildcats to 1-6 on the season.

Central Mountain will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 when they will host Altoona.
