Lady Bucks Pick Up Win No. 8, 13-3 over Muncy

FARWELL – Bucktail softball’s dream season stayed on track Wednesday, a 13-3, 5-inning takedown of visiting Muncy.

Coach Mike Poorman’s team did well in all facets of the game: 13 hits, 13 runs, errorless ball and a complete game 4-hitter from winning pitcher Emma Poorman. The win put Bucktail at 8-0 going into a final pre-Easter holiday contest, this Thursday, April 18, home with Millville (2-6).

The Lady Bucks spotted Muncy two early runs but the bats then went to work, the home team scoring four in the first, two in the second, five more in the fourth and ending the game on the 10-run rule at 13-3 with two in the bottom of the fifth.

Leading the hit parade was winning pitcher Poorman. She had a 3-for-3 day with six RBIs, one walk and two runs scored. Her output included a homerun. Also in with three hits was Emily Cross, including a double. In with two singles each were Jordan Burrows, Myka Poorman and Tessa Cowfer wh also drove in three runs. Contributing a single was Emma Intallura. The Lady Bucks stole seven bases and left only three on base.

Winning pitcher Poorman struck out seven and walked two in going the distance.

Thursday’s game is 4:30 p.m. in Farwell. The Lady Bucks then return to action next Tuesday, April 23, hosting Montgomery (3-2). Bucktail already owns a 19-2 win over the Lady Raiders.
