Lady Wildcats Hold Off Late Selinsgrove Rally, 4-3
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain (4-4, 3-2) picked up a key Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference win as they outlasted 4-3.
The Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and the Seals knotted the score in the bottom of the third inning. Central Mountain would inch forward adding another run in the top of the fourth inning with Selinsgrove matching the effort to tie the score once more at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
CM plated two more runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull ahead 4-2 and held off a late Lady Seal rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to prevail, 4-3.
Autumn Dershem led the offense for the Lady ‘Cats with a pair of base hits (RBI) while Alyssa Fisher, Madi Knepp (RBI), Bailee Renninger and Riley Houser (RBI) also had 1 hit each in the game.
Knepp went the distance in the circle for Central Mountain allowing 9 hits, no walks and striking out 3 Selinsgrove batters.
Next up for the Lady Wildcats is another road trip to Mifflinburg on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
