Hollidaysburg Outpaces Lady ‘Cats, 6-2

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough outing for the Lady Wildcat soccer team in their last home contest of the season, falling to Hollidaysburg, 6-2.

The Lady Golden Tigers built a 3-0 lead in the first period before CM was able to get their offense in gear when Haley McCollin had a shot past the Hollidaysburg keeper to get the Lady ‘Cats on the board, still trailing, 3-1.

Shortly after the first CM goal, Jocelyn Renninger took a pass from Sloan Tressler and the Lady Wildcats narrowed the gap to 3-2 still trailing their guests at intermission.

Hoping for continued success in the second period, Hollidaysburg had different intentions and picked up the pace even more, matching their effort of the first period, tacking on 3 more goals in the second half for the 6-2 win.

Hollidaysburg dominated with 18 shots on goal and 8 corner kicks while Central Mountain only managed 3 shots on goal.

It was another long haul for the Lady ‘Cat defense in the face of that pressure but they never gave up and played with intensity throughout.

CM keeper, Hailey Swortwood recorded 12 saves on the night.

Lady Wildcat seniors, Hunter Barger, Sloane Tressler, Lizzie Bottorf and Makayla Brungard played their last game on the turf at Malinak stadium.

Central Mountain (1-15, 0-8) will next see action on the road at Montoursville on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
