Williamsport Outlasts CM 1-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough, hard-fought game on the pitch at Malinak Stadium Thursday night when Central Mountain hosted Williamsport in boys’ soccer action.
Both teams battled to a scoreless tie in the first period with both squads put forth effective defensive efforts.
Then at the mid-point of the second period, the Millionaires finally succeeded in finding the back of the net to make a 1-0 lead that would stand for the win.
Williamsport did threaten often and held a distinct 15-1 edge in shots on goal and a light advantage of 4-0 in corner kicks.
Nick Andrus racked up 5 saves behind his hard working defense on the night.
The loss takes the Wildcats to 3-5-1 on the season and will next host Shikellamy on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.
