Route 220 Mill Hall Bridge Connector Almost Done

LOCK HAVEN – Repair work on four bridges in the Lock Haven area will be complete soon, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). These include the bridge on Mill Hall Road, the connector off Route 220 to Hogan Boulevard:

• As part of PennDOT’s Route 220 project, work has been continuing since spring to repair and rehabilitate the Route 2015 bridge that spans Route 220 at the Mill Hall Interchange. PennDOT expects to remove long-term traffic restrictions on the bridge tomorrow, November 4, once roadway line painting is complete. Remaining work at this structure includes electrical work for the overhead sign structure, guide rail installation, and miscellaneous items. This remaining work will be done with temporary lane closures and daylight flagging as necessary. A 10-foot width restriction will remain in place until November 11. Project completion is expected in late November. HRI, Inc. of State College has been the contractor on this project.

• As part of a preservation contract on four bridges, PennDOT expects to re-open a bridge on Route 44 that spans Route 220 at the Pine Creek interchange on November 11. Until then, work continues on the bridge and drivers will need to follow detour signs. Swank Construction Company, LLC of New Kensington, PA has been the contractor on this project.

• At other locations, work is continuing on the Route 220 bridges that span Paul Mack Boulevard (Route 120) at the Lock Haven interchange. Crews are working to install news bearings and repair and encapsulate pier caps. Traffic control consists of shoulder closures on Route 120 during daylight hours. Work is expected to be complete by the end of the year. HRI, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this project.

• Work is also continuing on a Route 220 bridge near Salona. The bridge spans Gilmore Road (Route 2006), with repair work taking place underneath the bridge. This work requires lane restrictions on Gilmore Road. Work will take placed through the end of the month. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this project.
