‘Cats fall to Williamsport 4-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain boys’ soccer had another tough night on the pitch falling 4-1 to rising Williamsport in Heartland Conference action Thursday night.
Williamsport struck first scoring on a PK just past the 20 minute mark of the first period.
Central Mountain has a similar opportunity just minutes later but the shot went wide left.
The Millionaires would strike again less than five minutes after their first score and would hold a 2-0 lead at intermission.
The Wildcats finally got on the board at 43:01 into the contest when Alex Williams found the back of the net on the assist by Trey Gentzel.
Then Williamsport would add an insurance goal just before the clock expired to solidify the win at 4-1.
The Millionaires held a distinct advantage in shots on goal (13-3 and CM keeper, Brody Baker stood tall for 11 saves on the night. Williamsport also had the edge on corner kicks at 3-1.
Central Mountain will be off until Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 when they will host Shikellamy at Malinak Stadium.
