CM SkillsUSA Team Donates to American Cancer Society

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working collaboratively to make sure our workforce continues to produce skilled students who will excel in the careers of technical, skill, and service occupations. Each state has its own association of SkillsUSA.
Central Mountain students will soon be competing the PA State Competition held in Hershey. Meanwhile, three state competitors have already made a difference in our community. The Central Mountain Community Service team comprised of Noel Moore, Annie Bechdel, and Jade Stasko made a $271.00 contribution to the Clinton County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. The students held various fundraisers that included a painting event and a breakfast table during senior project presentation day. The team also raised funds for AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, a facility for patients receiving cancer treatment. The process to the state SkillsUSA competition requires preparation and practice. The students presented to faculty and received feedback, they prepared binders, power points, and reports all in an effort to be best prepared when they head to Hershey to try and bring home first place in their division. A total of 14 Central Mountain students will be in Hershey for the 50th SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Competition April 13 through April 15; Emily Hibbler, Mark Wheary, Alan Wolford, Kimmie Coder, Sloan Snyder, Troyanna Silverstrim, Jordynn Bob, Kodey Schenck, Ethan Bressler, and the team of Noel Moore, Annie Bechdel, and Jade Stasko. The students are advised by faculty members, Shan Packer, Daci Killinger, and Jenn Walters.
