LHU Announces Coaching Change for Men’s Soccer

lhu-soccerLOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University Department of Athletics announced today that Doug Moore will not return as a head men’s soccer coach in 2016. A University press release gave no reason for his departure.

Moore just completed his 15th year at LHU (14th as head men’s soccer coach). The Bald Eagles finished the year with a 7-11-1 mark.

Moore took over the men’s program in 2002 and won over 130 games, recording seven seasons with an above .500 record. He led the Bald Eagles to one Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship, two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and guided over 30 players to All-Conference honors.

Moore started at LHU in 2001 and led the women’s soccer program to an 18-4 record and PSAC title. He served as men’s and women’s head coach from 2010-12.

“I will always have very fond memories of my time at Lock Haven University,” said Moore. “I want to thank all the wonderful student-athletes that I had the chance to work with.”

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
