Lady ‘Cats Fall to Montour 4-0

cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It all started out great for the Lady Wildcats as they hosted Montoursville for their final regular season home game Tuesday night.

CM and the Lady Warriors battled toe-to-toe for the first 47 minutes of the contest, then Montour found a few creases in the Lady Wildcat defense and proceed to find the back of the net on four tries in less than 7 minutes.

During the first period, the level of play and effort by both squads indicated it could be a long night once again at Malinak Stadium with neither team able to score before intermission.

As the second period began it appears to be more of the same until the Lady Warriors found the corner of the goal 32:21 mark. Montoursville followed that effort with three more scores and tallied a 4-0 lead with 25:11 remaining in the contest.

Battle as they may, Central Mountain could not find an answer for the Montour defense. The Lady ‘Cats threatened on several tries but came up short of scoring.

By the numbers, Montoursville dominated offensively with 8 shots on goal while CM threatened the net with four shots. The Lady Warriors also held a 2-0 edge with corner kicks.

Defensively it was even-up as both teams recorded 4 saves on the night.

The Lady Wildcats have two remaining contests for the 2015 season with road trips to Milton and DuBois.
