cm-soccerBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The senior members of the Central Mountain boys’ soccer program love their sport so much they thought an extra 20 minutes of game time on senior night might be a great way to recall their effort. Investing a relentless attack for 100 minutes will usually see at least a small return with some scoring. Such would not be the result of this effort.

It was Wildcats vs Wildcats once again as Mifflinburg and CM battled to a 0-0 tie after double overtime. The two squads had just battled this past Saturday where Central Mountain came away with a 2-0 win on the road at Mifflinburg. Victory would elude both squads on this night, though.

The ‘Cats spent considerable quality time in Mifflinburg territory much of the game especially late in the second period of regulation but came up short of scoring as Mifflinburg was successful in averting every attack CM could muster.

Statistically, Central Mountain had their chances to light up the scoreboard outpacing Mifflinburg 9-5 for shots on goal and 4-2 on corner kicks. Defensively, both teams provided an equal effort here as well. Brody Baker stopped all five Mifflinburg attacks while the ‘other Wildcats’ recorded 6 saves of their own on the night.

Senior members of the squad: Arie Miller, Kline Williams, Jeffrey Weaver, Alex Garbrick, Kevin Hook, Daniel Brinker and team manager, Morgan Bittner were honored in pre-game ceremonies for their contributions to the Wildcat soccer program.
